How to apply Texture Overlays

How to apply textures and overlays in Photoshop

Open the photograph you want to add the overlay to in Photoshop or similar application supporting layers and blending modes.

Go to File, on the top pull-down menu, and click on ‘Place’

Stretch the placed texture overlay image to fit your own image dimensions, by pulling in the
corners outwards.

Cycle through the blend modes to you find a combination you like; you can also decrease
the effect by sliding the opacity and fill sliders to the left. That’s it, easy, have fun!
